What is the art charge? (back to top)
Art charges are $30.00 per hour. Your customer service representative will be glad to quote an art charge for your job.

How do I proof my artwork? (back to top)
Art must be approved prior to production.

You will be sent an e-mail that has your customer number and order number and will be directed to a site that shows your design in the correct ink colors requested. Please be aware that colors to vary on different monitors and the ink colors will match the color on the ink chart.

Do you do PMS color matching?
We stock a wide variety of standard ink colors. Click here for approximate colors but please note that differences in monitors can significantly affect the color. If it is necessary to mix ink to match a specific color, there will be a $15.00 per color charge. A PMS number or color swatch must be provided. Due to variations in garment colors and reaction to dyes in certain colored shirts, some color variation should be expected.

What is process printing? (back to top)
Full color or 4 color process images are reproduced by a series of small dots called halftones and generally use a combination of the the three primary colors--blue, red, yellow, to make cyan, yellow, magenta, and black (CYMK). For example, green is reproduced on the garment by combining yellow and blue dots.

What are your standard printing locations and sizes of imprint?
Adult garments- 3.5" square is our standard pocket area print size. If we're printing on pocket it's 3" square.
Back art is printed at 12" square. Youth garments- 3" square is our standard pocket area print size. Back
art is printed at 9" square.

What software do you use? (back to top)
We primarily use Adobe Illustrator CS3. We also work in Photoshop for high end photograph type artwork.

May I provide my own artwork? (back to top)
We can review your artwork at the point of sale. If you have artwork that's been created on a computer, please supply art on a disk, CD, or Zip disk (100MB) along with a print out (color if applicable). At that point will be able to determine if additional art charges will be incurred. If you only have artwork on paper, it will need to be scanned or recreated to be screenprinted.

Can I send a jpeg to you for my art? (back to top)
For us to look at and price your project, yes, but as art, no. Jpegs are only suitable for use on the internet, not for printing.

I have a large drawing to send as art, will that be okay? (back to top)
Anything larger than 8" x 13" will have to be scanned in sections or re-drawn. Both of these will take some time. If your image is continuous tone, redrawing is out and scanning in sections is problematic at best. Your best bet would be to have it digitally photographed or scanned by a professional provider of those services and provide us with a 300 dpi tif, or Photoshop document.

If I e-mail my art, who should I send it to?
Please e-mail your art to david@hipeak.com.

Could you save a copy of my artwork to a disk and ship it out to me? (back to top)
Of course! Your art will be burned on a CD. We charge a flat rate of $10.00 for this service.

How soon, now that artwork is approved, can I expect to receive the t-shirts?
